After their highly successful production Seven Deadly Scenes made a big splash in November of last year and January this year, Kilkenny’s newest theatre outfit What’s On Tom are back with an exciting new show.

Kult is another selection of new short plays, many of which will be receiving their stage debuts. Whats On Tom received packed houses and fantastic reviews for Seven Deadly Scenes which like Kult showcased a variety of new work for the stage from emerging writers.

I’m absolutely delighted to say that one of my own plays Denouement will receive it’s debut during the show, in a production directed by Jeff Gormly and starring Geraldine Plunkett and Des Manahan. I’m equally delighted that it’s going to be amongst the work of quality writers like Gillian Grattan, Hugh Cardiff, Shawn Sturnick, Tony Deegan, Pauric Brennan and me ol’ mucker Samantha Heaney. Speaking of old muckers, former Devious players John Doran and Niall Sheehy will be amongst the cast treading the boards on the night. And meself and Ken will also be making a cameo of sorts in the show.

The debut bow of the show will be this Friday night, September 24th, in the Watergate Theatre where it plays as part of Culture Night. And best of all? It’s going to be FREE! So just show up on the night! Or indeed, if you want to avoid missing out on tickets, get booking now in the Watergate Theatre to ensure your seat.

So, if you’re in the mood for quality new theatre that’s absolutely FREE, it’s well worth popping down to the Watergate Theatre this Friday night for Kult. And if you can’t make it, it will be playing at the Red Door Theatre in Thomastown from Thursday 30th of September to Saturday 2nd of October at 7pm nightly.
