We’re Hugging For The Arts

If you ever wanted to hug anyone in our company, this Friday could be the time and place for you to do it!

We’ll be taking part in an event organised by the National Campaign For The Arts to highlight the role of the arts in the life of Kilkenny city. And being a city full of friendly, arty types, we’ll be doing it in a very novel way… with hugs!

From 12.50pm – 1.10pm this Friday lunchtime, members of Kilkenny’s artistic community are meeting on the Parade (just like in the above Smitten picture) and dishing out free hugs and raising awareness of our arts scene as another harsh budget looms. Join ourselves, Barnstorm Theatre Company, Kilkenny Arts Office, Young Irish Film Makers, Mycrofilms, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Butler Gallery, Kilkenny Castle, The Watergate Theatre and Barn Owl Players in highlighting the role of the arts in Kilkenny. We need to put on a united front and make our presence felt and with a lot of politicians promising to be on hand for this assembly, we hope it’s a presence that will be felt keenly. So if you want to support this most worthy of all causes, please join us!

If you want to be a hugger or be more involved in this event, please contact Vincent Dempsey at Barnstorm Theatre Company on 056 7751266.

PS. Did we mention the free hugs?
