John Morton of this parish is one of the recipients of the inaugural Watergate Theatre Gateways bursary.
John will be using the bursary towards work on the long developing play The Folklore Commission. Along with co-writer Peter McGann and director Sarah Baxter they’ll be working on the play in the Watergate Theatre in the coming months as it continues its journey towards production. The Hellfire Squad and The Roaring Banshees, the two previous plays in their loose trilogy of Irish historical plays also had their premiere runs in the Watergate Theatre.
