Spud Concept Art

With Trainspotting looming on the horizon, we’ve been amping up a pre-production and locking down a lot of our design. Specifically what the characters will look like. The first character we’ll be revealing in the coming weeks will be Danny ‘Spud’ Murphy.

Here’s a look at our interpretation of Irvine Welsh’s most adorable fuck up of a character. Our designer Paddy Dunne created this sketch after much chatting with our directors Niamh and John. It’s safe to say that we’re going for a more rough around the edges, shambolic version of the character than the slightly trendier one played by Ewan Bremner in the film.

In our version he’ll be played by Stephen Colfer… watch this space, the grand reveal is coming soon. And it won’t be pretty…
