NEST

unnamedA new and exciting theatre event is taking place in Kilkenny this weekend. We’re spreading the word about NEST, a three day event that will traverse through performing arts disciplines in pursuit of what exactly is the essence of being a female performance artist working in the industry today. Nest was instigated by two independent Kilkenny based performers and writers; Susie Lamb and Niamh Moroney, one of our founding mothers. The event was born out of the need to investigate aspects of female made performance. From this idea they have cultivated a unique residential festival taking place in Parliament Street this coming weekend.

3744945590Over the three days a series of plays, music, workshops, work in progress showings and panel discussions by Susie Lamb, Niamh Shaw, Zoe Uí Fhaolain, Aine Phillips, Niamh Moroney, Breda Larkin, Joanne Boyle, Eszter Nemethi, Ita Morrissey, Gillian Grattan and more. You can get a full run down of events right here.

The festival takes place entirely within 41 Parliament Street with weekend tickets for all events costing €100 and that runs from Friday at 5pm to Sunday night at 10.30pm. Saturday and Sunday tickets for the event are €50 each, which gives you access to all events on those days from 9.30am-10.30pm. Tickets are limited though so be warned.

Tickets can be booked by e mailing nestkilkenny@gmail.com and putting “BOOKING” in the subject box or by calling Niamh on 0831510156.
