Today is the 21st birthday of Kilkenny’s biggest theatrical institution The Watergate Theatre.
We’d like to wish Ger Cody and the team huge big happy 21st birthday and there’s been a great selection of events to commemorate this milestone birthday for theatre in Kilkenny. We’ve gotten huge support from the theatre over the years and since 2006 we’ve been very lucky to put on a total of 5 productions in there (Starting with Cannibal! The Musical in 2007 and continuing with War Of Attrition in 2013). We’re also delighted to announce that this year, for the first time ever, we’ll be performing two shows there in a calendar year. On July 10th there will be a special one off performance of Some Flood as part of a week long theatre festival in the Watergate. And then we’ll be back in the winter with something that’s on the qt and very hush hush right now. We’re very proud to have been part of the history of theatre at the Watergate and we’re very excited to keep that relationship going in the coming years. A big congratulations to Ger and all his staff and here’s to another fruitful 21 years!
