    Heart Shaped Vinyl (2006 / 2007)

Heart Shaped Vinyl This was our flagship production, first performed in August 2006, the play looks at five couples through five decades (60s to present day) and how their lives and relationships are impacted by and relate to music at a given point in time. A romantic comedy at heart, the five couples are all from different backgrounds, each relationship with different outcomes, reflected by the music of the particular scene. The show opened August 22nd in Cleere’s Theatre in Kilkenny for a three night run before returning by popular demand in 2007 for an extended four night run, June 27th to June 30th.

    Cannibal! The Musical (2007)

Cannibal! The Musical Out of the frying pan and into the fire but more than ready for it – Cannibal! The Musical saw us undertake our first major production after a highly successful first year as a group. The show was written by Trey Parker (South Park, Team America : World Police) and tells the story of the first person ever tried for Cannibalism in the United States, Alferd Packer. All of this of course wrapped up in trademark South Park humour, with singing, dancing, toe-tapping songs and lots more. Under covers, the show was under development on our side for years and we picked up the rights in 2006 for a 2007 production. The show, an Irish premiere, ran August 22nd to 25th, 2007 in the Watergate Theatre Kilkenny. Click for more…

    Trainspotting (2008)

Trainspotting In June of 2008, we undertook our most difficult task to date, with our production of Irvine Welsh’s “Trainspotting”, adapted by Harry Gibson. Set in Edinburgh in the late 1980’s, Trainspotting depicts the decaying friendships of a bunch of no hopers, heroin addicts and petty criminals as they attempt to escape the boredom of their lives. Depicted mostly in monologues, the stories are unflinchingly shocking, darkly humorous and full of Welsh’s raw observations of life. Trainspotting ran June 24th to 28th 2008, in the Watergate Theatre Kilkenny. Click for more…

    Smitten (2008)

Smitten August 2008 saw our 4th deviation, “Smitten” written by our own John Morton. Smitten depicts a tragicomic series of loosely interlinked stories set in Kilkenny City over a succession of rainy summer nights. The characters at the core of Smitten are all young adults trying to find their bearings in life. The realities of adult life are dealing a harsh blow to the best laid plans, in a way that leaves them totally smitten… in all the meanings of the word. The production, which ran from August 20th to 23rd, enjoyed a completely sold out run in Barnstorm Theatre’s performance space, The Barn. Click for more…
